Church of St. Nicholai Interior Perspectives
Upon visiting an unscrupulous amount of visually stimulating museums and churches in our short stay in Leipzig, the church of St. Nicholai was the most beautiful. Although I'm not personally subscribed to any religion in particular, I'd consider myself a spiritual individual that has always appreciated religious architecture viewing them as a type of art history hybrid. Like museums, they display art in several capacities including the glass windows, sculptures, color themes, and (even more superior to some museums) in their design. Of all the churches I've seen in my life, nothing compares to this magnitude of richness. In resembling some sort of heavenly paradise, the architect Carl Dauthe was inspired by just that. The palm tree pillars are an extension of that also housing the largest church organ in Saxony. I apologize for the frame of some photos I provided, wanted to have close shots of these walls in every angle! :)
